Almasplit: a success story

In late 2009, Splitmania and Almagrupo decided to set up a 50/50 joint venture to centralise their air conditioning and accessories businesses.

Splitmania brought its knowhow to the company along with major purchases from top brands.

For its part Almagrupo, in addition to contributing some pretty significant buying figures, also had an extensive distribution network which, except in some cases, had almost everything to do in this segment.

The leading manufacturers committed heavily to the joint venture and the outcome has been that the company has easily exceeded all goals and objectives in its first year.

Thus the market share the two companies achieved separately in 2009 has been more than doubled in 2010 to around 9%, with 59% growth in the sum of the figures achieved separately by the two companies in 2009.
